Our story begins in the early 1900s, when the Wheeler family played a foundational role in
shaping Southern California through citrus farming, real estate development, and regional
infrastructure. As the land evolved from agricultural roots into residential and commercial
communities, the Wheelers were instrumental in supporting transportation routes and
accessibility across the Foothill and Mountain regions.

In the 1960s, Roger Wheeler partnered with Art Steffen to form Wheeler Steffen Real
Estate—an iconic brokerage that became central to residential and commercial development
throughout the valley, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear, and nearby resort communities. Their
leadership helped introduce new neighborhoods, growing business districts, and year-round
mountain living, leaving an enduring imprint on the region.

In 2013, Wheeler Steffen partnered with Sotheby’s and became Wheeler Steffen Sotheby’s
International Realty.

In 2025, this legacy entered a new chapter with the acquisition by Vista Sotheby’s International
Realty. Founded by a select group of elite Realtors®, Vista Sotheby’s unites premier boutique
firms under one globally recognized luxury brand. What began in the coastal towns of Palos
Verdes and Manhattan Beach now spans the South Bay, Los Angeles, Riverside County, the
